Why the Name Lifespring?

"Come! Whoever is thirsty, let him come; and whoever wishes, let him take the free gift of the water of life." Rev. 22:17 NIV

Thirst is a constant need in our lives and we continually seek to fulfill this need. Water is our most precious resource and without it, there would be no life.

In John 4, we meet a woman at a well. Her name is not important for she could be anyone; she could be one of us. The woman comes face to face with her need to fulfill her thirst and Jesus who will offer her life changing living water.

She is amazed at Jesus who is unconcerned about the political correctness, customs or traditionJesus is the living waters of His day; He cares only about this woman and her needs. This is the heart of Jesus, to see past what the world views and looks at our potential.

Jesus reaches out to her, asking her for a drink. He uses the water to draw her into a conversation and then He offers her a drink of a much deeper kind - one that will last forever. The woman asks, "Why are you asking me for a drink?" John 4:9. She doesn’t realize the water He is offering, or that her life is parched, wilted and dry. Jesus replies, "If you only knew the gift God has for you and who I am, you would ask me, and I would give you living water." John 4:10

Jesus offers all of us the same gift of living water. Life springs through Him, without whom there is no life. Speaking of the well, Jesus said, "People soon become thirsty again after drinking this water. But the water I give them takes away thirst altogether. It becomes a perpetual spring within them, giving them eternal life." John 4:13-14 NLT

LifeSpring Christian Church celebrates Jesus; the Son sent as our Savior to lead us to eternal life. He is the perpetual spring that restores and refreshes our life. "For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." Revelation 7:17 NIV

Jesus did this for the woman at the well, He led her into a new life and He does the same for all who come to him. LifeSpring Christian Church believes in letting Jesus be the lead in our lives.

"My purpose is to give life in all its fullness." John 10:10 NLT

We believe in the Christian Bible and stand on God’s word. In other words, we employ the lessons Jesus provided to us. We are committed to growing together and helping each other discover God’s design for us.

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation." Isaiah 12:3

We celebrate together in worship and with joy. LifeSpring Christian Church is a group of believers who are thirsting for God’s word and thrive on the living waters he offers.

Revelation 21:6 (NIV) "He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life."

At the heart of all of this there is the fundamental truth that in the human heart there is a thirst for something that only Jesus Christ can satisfy. That is what Jesus still offers today. He is the life giving water.

"Anyone who is thirsty may come to me!  Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, 'Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.'" John 7: 37, 38 NLT
